Equine Environmental Short Course Offered In Lehigh Valley, PA
The Equine Environmental Stewardship Short Course is a hands on course held over four evenings. Attendees will learn the knowledge and skills using environmentally sound practices geared towards managing healthy horses, healthy farms and healthy environment.
The topics to be covered are:
- Forage biology
- Forage species
- Grazing management
- Pasture renovation
- Wee and toxic plant management
- Soil health and fertility management
- Fencing
- Best farm management practices that benefit the environment, such as manure storage, composting, and heavy use areas
- Current manure management regulations
Who should attend this short course?
- Anyone considering buying a horse and/or horse farm
- Current horse owners
- Managers of other's horses
- Anyone working with horse farm owners
When is the Course held?
- October 5, 12, 19, and 26, 2016 from 7:00PM until 9:00PM
