Sybil has brought to light a place for active seniors and not just a warehousing of the elderly. To many times the elderly are just "put away" to get them out of the way.
We need better treatment of our elderly. Check this out and let people know there is a better wayn
Colonial Heritage is a gated active adult community located
just a few miles west of Williamsburg, Virginia.
As an active adult community, residents are required to be over 55, although up to 15 percent of the residents can be 45 or older.
The main entrance to Colonial Heritage is located on route 60 directly across from Go Karts Plus just past the Williamsburg Pottery. It is easy to find because of the flags at the entrance.
The Colonial Heritage community has been voted as being one of the top 50 places to retire.
After stopping at the guard shack when entering Colonial Heritage, drivers proceed down Colonial Heritage Blvd. To the right are two lovely fountains, a waterfall and a gazebo. At the intersection just past the fountains is the clubhouse .
The 25,000 square foot clubhouse includes a banquet room, library, bar and restaurant. There is also an 18 hole Arnold Palmer golf course, an outdoor pool, tennis courts and owners club. The owners club has a work out room, indoor pool with jacuzzi, pro shop and aerobics room. The picture below is the back of the clubhouse.
