Bringing the community together each year, the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony is held to honor the memory of those who were lost in the attacks, and to salute Honolulu's first responders including the Honolulu Police Department, Honolulu Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services. This event is free and open to the public.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon. Mayor Kirk Caldwell will deliver the keynote address with music by the Royal Hawaiian Band and ceremonial services by Joint Service Color Guard and Pacific Fleet Band.
