As I just recently listed and sold our home and purchased a new home for us, I learned a lot along the way. I list and sell lots and lots of homes a year. But this was the first time I was the one who was selling and buying. So on top of the typical challenges I face as a Realtor, I now had to handle the seller’s and buyer’s role.
The process went really very well. I just took the processes I use for all my transactions, and put them into place with our own transaction. And I was super fortunate to have another great agent on the other side of both transactions. As I just went through the challenges of moving, I thought it might be helpful to have a few blogs about hints for getting your home ready to sell, packing up and moving.
Let’s start at the beginning. The day my husband John and I decided to pursue another home! Everyone who knows me knows I love horses. I have three. John felt we needed a place with more land. I took him out to a property I had showed recently, and last year. He loved, loved loved the land. Honestly, we weren’t in love with the home. But we went for four wheeler ride about the land and could hear the water running in the bordering Palouse River. We decided we should attempt to pursue the property. Some folks, and we are no exception, are not in a position to carry two mortgages at the same time. So we wrote our offer contingent on the sale of our home.
There are lots of different ways to accomplish your goals. This is how we were able to sell our home and purchase our new home. I am happy to discuss your goals and together we can come up with a plan to sell or buy your next home.
