The scenery at The Mill House Restaurant at Maui Tropical Plantation

I've been hearing a lot about the Mill House Restaurant at Maui Tropical Plantation, so pulled in the other day while driving by.  I wasn't hungry enough to eat but I was curious to see what they have done by way of incorporating some old sugar mill features into their landscape.

What a surprise to see the creative use of some old huge gears and other interesting machinery.  How did they ever come up with this?  What a great way to preserve a little bit of Maui's history.

One of these days I'll stop in for a lunch or dinner and get the full experience.  They specialize in "farm to table" by sourcing a lot of their ingredients right here at the plantation farm, and other local farms.  From the reviews I've been reading on Yelp, it sounds like the food will be delicious, and the service impeccable.

The scenery here at the Maui Tropical Plantation is really amazing.  They've planted all kinds of colorful plants and flowers, and with the meandering paths and ponds it's quite fun to walk around. There's some little shops and activities as well.

Be sure to stop in here at the Maui Tropical Plantation and try out the Mill House Restaurant if you're in the Waikapu/Wailuku area.  They're just off the Honoapiilani Highway...

Georgie, if the food is anything at all like the scenery, it must be amazing!  Nice photos.

The combination of tropical and farm elements is really cool and I'd like to see more of it!
