Moving Forward
We can't rewrite the past. The best we can do is learn from it. We must then go forward.
There are times in my life when I feel like I've stalled. That I'm standing still. I spend too much time on one thing, over thinking, over planning. Meanwhile nothing is happening. I'm stuck. This can happen with something simple such as a writing a blog post, or something much bigger such as personalizing our website. I tend to over think just about everything.
When this happens, I'm reminded of a phrase that I first heard from a colleague. I'm not sure if she was the first one to say it, or if she was quoting someone else.
"Progress...not Perfection"
If I want to get something done, I have to just keep moving forward. I can make changes later if I'm unhappy with the results. This creates a win-win scenario. Work gets done and it leaves time for play, the reward for time well spent.
As I get older (and hopefully wiser) I realize how valuable play time can be. It's good for relationships, my health and my spirit....body, mind and soul!
Today Rich and I are working, so tomorrow we can go to a party for a friend who just remodeled her kitchen. It will be good to see her and her Mom. Oh and did I mention that they are both past clients? Should be a great party! We'll make progress today and we'll play tomorrow. Life is good!
This is my submission for the "I want you to inspire me contest".
