why would that be, you may ask?
Those who know me well, may think that it has something to do with the beginning of the NFL season, but no that's not it. It actually has something to do with another passion of mine.
I love first time homebuyers
There's the traditional families, and individuals who are looking to purchase their first home, and especially those who have been ready for awhile, but thought that they would never be able to afford a home, because of where prices had gone , back in the day.
There's also a new group of home buyers that lenders refer to as first time homebuyers. That would be those who have not owned a home for at least the past 3 years.
Now let's get back to... Hardest Hit
This is a down payment program administered throught the Florida Housing Finance Corporation where a buyer may receive up to $15,000 for down payment and closing costs if you fit in the above categories, or if you are a Veteran. This is a 5 year loan , at 0% interest and forgiven over a 5 year term at a rate of 20% per year.
Until September 1st of this year the program was only available in 5 counties, those being Brevard, Duval, Hillsborough, Orange & Volusia. But starting September 1st that was expanded to also include Clay, Osceola, Pasco, Pinella's Polk, and St. Lucie.
This is just a great program, and a wonderful opportunity for the buyers who qualify, and that's why the words Hardest Hit make me smile.
