WaCanId 2016 International Selkirk Loop Bicycle Ride
The big week is here. Kick off dinner tonight, at Trinity's Restaurant, for WaCanId 2016 bicycle ride around the International Selkirk Loop. 371 miles over 6 days with a layover day in Nelson BC. With summer activities winding down this will be one of the last out of Sandpoint Idaho.
I am looking forward to this year as this is the ride you have heard me talking about, and training for.
First day will be the biggest with close to 100 miles starting in Sandpoint Idaho and finishing the day in Coleville Washington. The elevation gain for the day will be the single largest as well.
With so many bicycle events now it is hard to choose. WaCanId International Selkirk Loop ride is known for its unparalled beauty and unmatched SAG support. Riding from Lake Pend Oreille and following Pend Oreille River until heading up and over Flowery Pass the first day. The second day having riders follow Columbia River and up the pass to end in Rossland. Day 3 and 4 at Nelson BC.
Day 5 starts the ride back towards Sandpoint after crossing the worlds longest 'free' Ferry ride across the Kootenai Lake into Crawford and finishing Creston BC. Last day back into the USA and Bonners Ferry Idaho for lunch before finishing Sandpoint Idaho with 371 miles of memories.
