What's Up With This Home Buyer???

I sat an open house for a colleague today and had an enjoyable experience.  I began as I usually do; lights on, windows open, listing packets, sign-in sheet, and even cookies.  This particular home is vacant as it was a flip from a resident in the area.  I've never met him and didn't think I would at the open house.  

Buyer traffic was steady throughout the day.  The feedback was mostly positive, and I tried to provide additional information to each, very opinionated attendee.  

I looked at my watch and low and behold it's ten minutes til closing time.    We all know what happens just minutes before closing right?  Yup, another buyer, comes in and extends the open house. The gentleman walked in, and before I could offer my usual greeting, he hurries past me and only says "what's up" out of the side of his mouth. Thankfully he signed in, and by all means, have a cookie Mr.  

While they are walking around, I'm wondering what this guys deal is.  Soon enough, he walks over with his hand out and says "Hi, I'm the owner."  Ahhh

After chatting a bit, I find out they had come to the very first open house, I sat for them.  Immediately I thought back to that day and scanned the open house to make sure I did everything right.  No need to worry, I did and always do.  

We never know who is watching, lurking, or testing us.  If we do everything right from the beginning, we won't have to wish we had down the road.

Christopher- you are so right.  Don't take shortcuts and do what's right.  Then, there's never a need to worry!!
