I feel compelled to tell a story of an amazing experience I had representing a Purple Heart Marine Veteran who served our country proud buy his first home .
i feel proud to have served him in this endeavor and would like to share this story. I met my buyer by accident when I went to a art exhibit and witnessed Military Art on display and talked with the local artist. We talked about his art , his experience as a veteran , life , art , music , politics , and eventually real estate . He told me he wanted to buy a home using his VA benefits and income from his pension as a veteran . I did not know at that time he was receiving 100% disability income due to his service for our country but learned more about this and his traumatic brain disorder and PTSD as we got to know each other better.
We began by getting him qualified for a VA loan and started to look for multi family homes that he could buy. When we found one he liked I did som aething unusual and not often recommended by realtors . I wanted the seller to meet my buyer in person . Instinctively I knew that if the seller met my buyer that this would give my buyer an advantage when making an offer to purchase. When I introduced my buyer to the seller I found out the seller has a son who just enlisted in the Marines and connection to duty and service was immediately felt by the seller . You see the seller was rehabbing this building and had others interested in the building but once he met my buyer and talked with him he made a commitment to sell the building to my buyer .
The process of buying took some time due to the rehab process but it eventually closed last Friday. I must say this was one of the best experiences I've had selling as my buyer and I have bonded and I know we will continue to be friends . I am also proud of him because he has committed to rent the second apartment to another Marine Veteran . I also want to pay a special thank you to the seller and to his son who is also now serving our country .
