The 31st Annual Sandy Springs Festival offers two exciting days of fine art, live music, cultural performances, a pet parade, Chalk Walk Art Competition, 10K and 5K race, children’s programming, classic rides, gourmet and festival food options, and much more.

The Sandy Springs Festival has grown from a small picnic to a major event drawing 30,000 attendees. As the primary fundraiser for Heritage Sandy Springs – the nonprofit organization that saved the original “sandy springs” and is dedicated to a vibrant community engaged in history, culture, and stewardship – this celebrated community tradition has something for everyone!

Passes are not pre-sold and may only be purchased at the gates the day of the Festival.

All proceeds benefit Heritage Sandy Springs, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to promoting history, stewarding a community park, and enhancing the cultural identity of Sandy Springs.

 

The Sandy Springs Festival takes place in the heart of the city at Heritage Green, 6075 Sandy Springs Circle.

From I-285, take the Roswell Road exit and head north. From GA 400, take the Abernathy Road exit and head west towards Sandy Springs.

Free parking, with shuttle service provided by Cooper Global Transportation & the City of Sandy Springs, is available at the following locations:

MARTA

The closest MARTA stop is the Dunwoody Station, 1.6 miles away. A passenger can take the #5 Sandy Springs or the #76 Roswell Road bus. Both drop passengers at Hilderbrand Drive and Roswell Road, one block east of the Festival entrance on Hilderbrand Drive and Bluestone Road.

The Sandy Springs Festival is held at Heritage Green, 6075 Sandy Springs Circle, Sandy Springs, GA and the surrounding area. The community should be aware of the following road closures: 

  • Sandy Springs Place
    • From Sandy Springs Circle to Blue Stone Road
    • Friday, 9/16, 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, 9/18, 10:00 p.m.
  • Sandy Springs Circle
    • From Mt. Vernon Hwy to south of Sandy Springs Place
    • Friday, 9/16, 2:00 p.m. to Sunday, 9/18, 10:00 p.m.
  • Hilderbrand Drive
    • From Sandy Springs Circle to Blue Stone Road
    • Friday, 9/16, 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, 9/18, 10:00 p.m.
    • Access to businesses will still be permitted from Roswell Road until 6:00 p.m.
  • Blue Stone Road
    • Both lanes of Blue Stone Road will remain open, with traffic calming measures in place to protect pedestrians

In addition, road closures will be in place for the Sandy Springs Lightning 10k/5k race on the morning of Saturday, September 17:

  • The closing of Mt. Vernon Highway and Old Powers Ferry will affect access to several neighborhoods.
    • Click here to view the race route.
    • The Sandy Springs Police Department will begin closing Mt. Vernon Highway between Lake Forest Drive and Sandy Springs Circle at 6:00 a.m.
    • SSPD will re-open the affected roads by 9:30 a.m. when all runners have passed.

Please note: Mt. Vernon Highway will remain closed between Sandy Springs Circle and Roswell Road for work related to the City Springs Project. There will also be one lane closed on Johnson Ferry between Sandy Springs Circle and Roswell Road – click here for more details.

What are the festival hours?

Saturday, September 17, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 18, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Can I bring my dog to the Sandy Springs Festival?

Yes, the Sandy Springs Festival is proud to be a pet-friendly Festival!  All pets must remain on leash at all times.  Please visit our Pet Parade page for details on how to enter your furry-friend into this fun and unique activity.

What forms of payment are accepted?

Cash, checks, and credit cards are acceptable forms of payment for Festival entry. Payment forms vary by vendor, but generally cash and check are the most preferred methods. For your convenience, an ATM machine is located on-site.

Are alcoholic beverages available at the Festival?

Yes. Those 21 years of age and older with a valid ID may purchase beer and wine. Soft drinks and bottled water are also available for purchase. No outside food or beverages may be brought into the Festival.

Is smoking allowed in the park during the Festival?

No smoking is permitted within the Festival grounds.

What happens if it rains?

This event is rain or shine, unless weather conditions present an unsafe environment for attendees and vendors. No refunds will be issued in the event of inclement weather.

Why do I have to pay to get into the Festival?

The Sandy Springs Festival is the largest fundraiser for Heritage Sandy Springs, the not-for-profit organization that funds and operates Heritage Green, a four-acre City park located in the heart of Sandy Springs.

Funds raised from the Festival are used to preserve and maintain the city’s original urban greenspace, to present recreational, educational, and cultural opportunities for Sandy Springs residents, and to share the city’s rich history through exhibits in the Heritage Sandy Springs Museum.

Can I become a member of Heritage Sandy Springs and get in free to the Festival?
