How To Use YouTube Annotations To Get Tons Of Views

By

I have been pushing Realtors hard to have 'Calls To Action" in their videos..

You need to lead them somewhere to do something!!

ANNOTATIONS is one great way..

Here is a summary of a great article by video marketer Amir Jaffari..

This achieved 1,000,000 views for him..

Objective: Increase YouTube views.

YouTube Details

  1. Visit your 28-day analytics views report to find most popular videos.
  2. Go to the Audience Retention tab of your analytics dashboard and select your top videos.
  3. Find the drop-off point and add an annotation for the video 20 seconds before the drop-off point.
  4. Start with the largest size you can get away with it for the annotation, as large as you can without taking away from the main content.
  5. Position the annotation on the lower right and make sure it's noticeable (lower right generates 40%+ increase in CTR)
  6. Optimize your CTA (pitch).

I am sure they help to lead people where you want them, but they do get irritating for the viewer who wants to watch the video.

In that case their needs to be anothey type of Call To Action like a YouTube Card , Description with links etc..The biggest mistake Realtors make is no Call To Action except a slide at the end with their info on it..consumers would have to stop the video, write down your info then reach out..highly unlikely compared to anything quickly clickable...

Hugh Thomas Lorch I do agree with Bob Crane on the impression these annotations leave me with in YouTube vids.

The people that are bothered by annotations were not going to buy from you anyway so you shouldn't care in my opinion. All you should care about are the people that are intrigued by the video and will gladly click through to reach out because they actually want to buy something. Proper placement is key also.it is way more effective towards the end of a video and lower right hand corner.
