I do not mind eating garlic for its nutritional value.  Capital of Garlic is Gilroy in Santa Clara county. The plants are easy to grow.  I put garlic bulbs in treated chicken droppings mixed with soil in the fall just before the rain season.  They grow over the winter.  The tender leaves do not attract birds. If the birds do not have sense of smell, why they do not like the tender leaves? Ah, it must be its pungent taste which discourage birds from eating the leaves.

I am aware of Garlic ice cream. Garlic wine which tastes like salad dressing. The Christopher Brothers is the largest local grower and processor. McCormick has a spice plant just south of Gilroy factory outlets.

This year at McDonald restaurants started a new recipe called Garlic Fries.  I wonder what it tastes like. I decided to get an order. The flavor was OK the soggy fries are something I shared rest with a stranger.

Hi Sam, I use garlic in my cooking and like the flavor. I do use it sparingly as it sticks with me sometimes for a day or two.

Most of the fries at McD the garlic is imported from N. China. America lost out on spices like garlic the same way Koreans now import Kimchi from China.  Only the premium grade garlic comes from local. McCormik Spice plant is here.  We used to grow prune, then Silicon wafers here. Now, Social media and these companies are getting staled.

Interesting receipe. I don't use it on everything, but it does give a kick to flavoring...

Give me the Bon Ap's version any day... I had one time a horrendous one from one of the food truck, the amount of garlic matched the amount of fries:)))Endre
