There are several factors that weigh in on how a home might be affordable. After all, there are maintenance costs, insurance, taxes, monthly utility costs and much more. But it also has to do with where you live as all of these can vary by location. Awe, the dreaded location, location, location phenomenon!
But how do you measure Home Affordability? Recently, BuilderOnline.com and Bankrate.com reported survey results conveying just that in their affordability index. Feel free to click on the link, but here are the top 10 metropolitan areas according to their survey results.
Notice that Phoenix/Mesa/Scottsdale is listed as the #2 spot in the country. Part of that equation is due to how much energy we use to power our homes. Most folks think our AC bills will run us into the red in our checking accounts each month. Not so since we are #2 per capita in the US for solar energy. Of course we are also #1 per capita for energy efficient, production built homes. But that much aside, we are still an affordable place to live with affordable prices!
So if you're looking for an affordable home, with low energy costs, moderate insurance, and low property taxes, consider RelocatingToScottsdale.com! And if you come to visit our city, give me a call. I'm happy to show you some of the best our city has to offer!
