Is the National Association of Realtors Out to Destroy Us?

I've never understood how or why our MLS information was licensed to be shared and used by sites like Truila that compete with us.

Bad enough that they encourage sellers to go it alone without a seller's agent, but they also readily opine on subjects that they have no knowledge of.

They offer to give an analysis of a home's value without any licensed Realtor in that market being involved.

Or how about the one that puts a headline of above your listing?  It opines that your listing is in a high crime area?  Really?  Are you sure?  "I didn't know that and I live nearby."

And then there are those very silly TV ads that promote Realtors, all the while the Truils of the world are running ads that get to the point and encourage potential buyers and sellers to go through them instgead.

The NAR has no real purpose if it can't protect its members' business in an orderly fashion.  It's apparently not choosing to do that, and I don't know why that has happened.

There are many times our  Association appears to get out in the weeds and  seems more focused on 'Feel Good' politics, rather than those things that are truly important for the vast majority of the membership.  Just like our political system, if we don't like what is going on, then get involved.  It may seem difficult, and yes, it does take a long time commitment; just remember, our current leadership also had to start with their first year of volunteering.  Please, please get involved!
