This is our entry into the Romanticize Your Marketplace: September Active Rain Contest! hosted by Ron and Alexandra Seigel.
As some of you already know, in addition to the Phoenix/Scottsdale real estate market area, we have also lived and sold property in London, and with the Keller Williams expansion into that market a couple of years ago, will be focusing on growing our business in that market.
Why, you may ask?
I (Tony) lived there during my "formative years" - age 9 to 17 - and grew up alongside a wealth of history.
London is a great city to walk.
The family home, located six miles west of Marble Arch, has been the starting point for many a great walk to the center of London early on a weekend morning.
Although more crowded these days it seems, one can meander one's way through various parks and "green spaces" right into the heart of London.
Depending on whether you want the pulsing energy generated by the throngs of people in Piccadilly Circus, or a more sedate stroll past Westminster Abbey to the Houses of Parliament, there is something for everyone in this great city.
The theatre district is second to none - and when we are in London we do our best to see at least a couple of plays every week. Most theatres are within an easy stroll from Piccadilly Circus for those who prefer to head into the city via the London Underground (the "tube").
Another peaceful and rewarding experience is a visit to the National Gallery which sits on the north side of Trafalgar Square. It houses one of the greatest collection of paintings in the world. You can spend days there and still not see it all!
For those who have the opportunity and the wherewithal to purchase a home in London, the culture and history around you will keep you busy for many years!
