STAY DRUNK...Fran's Friday Forum...!!!

By
Title Insurance with Patriot Land Transfer, Inc.

Before you get the wrong impression of this post...let me assure you that it is NOT CONDONING DRUNKENNESS, or RECOMMENDING A SOLUTION ON HOW TO VOTE IN OUR UPCOMING ELECTIONS, or WHAT TO DO AFTER THE ELECTIONS...BUT...

It is all about STAYING HEALTHY...BY STAYING HYDRATED...!!!

DISCLAIMER: I am not in the medical profession...I sell TITLE INSURANCE...and this post is purely anecdotal...BUT...

There have been several times in my life when I have fallen victim to KIDNEY STONE ATTACKS, ACUTE KIDNEY FAILURE, AND MORE RECENTLY GOUT FLARE UPS...

THE KEY to avoiding any of the above situations is STAYING HYDRATED...Keeping your body’s fluid level where it belongs...

I am not a ‘drinker’, I may have a few beers in a year's time or an occasional glass of wine with meals or even some champagne at a wedding or on New Years, and if you ask any of my family members to describe my DRINK OF CHOICE...THEY WOULD WITHOUT HESITATION SAY: WATER...!!!

YET, even I, who constantly carry around with me a large Thermos of cold water, usually walk around UNDER HYDRATED...you see...it’s not good enough to ‘CARRY IT AROUND’...You’ve got to ACTUALLY DRINK IT...!!! And there are plenty of healthy things besides water to drink: tea, coffee, lemonade, low fat milk, fruit juices, etc.

As I am now getting through my recent bout of GOUT...I pass this on so you can possibly avoid getting your first...KEEP YOUR KIDNEYS HEALTHY AND HYDRATED and they will work well for you for many years...!!!

Have a great weekend and STAY DRUNK ON H2O...AND JESUS...!!!

I am glad that this got picked by Kathy Streib - I am a big ice tea drinker - not so much the water but lots of ice tea. I always have ice tea with me - keep adding ice to it through the day as the ice melts so I guress I get a good amount of water!

ANDREA: I like your comment...it shows you understand your need to stay hydrated. The last several comments say what I have been trying to say: water, water with lemon, ice tea, lemonade, or practically anything containing water is good, and accomplishes the goal...!!!

LISA: Your comment prompted my comment to ANDREA above...!!!

SCOTT: Thank you all and especially Kathy Streib for responding so positively and for featuring this post in her weekly blog...!!!

Thanks,   Fran

Fran, that's a great reminder for all of us. I've never had a kidney stone, but I've had friends who have and that's enough for me to stay hydrated.

This is a good reminder for us all. My chiropractor is always reminding me about the importance of being properly hydrated, too, to be in a healthier state of being.

I've always been a big water drinker and am in a constant battle with my 88 year old Mother to increase her consumption.  It also helps to "plump" the veins when blood tests are needed so that's worked wonders in encouraging her to drink more.

This is a great post and very good advice.  I am a big water drinker, but it is a conscious effort to not just reach for a coke or a gin and tonic!  LOL

I am always drunk and can easily consume 6-8 bottles of water a day.  It forces me to get up and walk often to unload

Fran - I am a tennis player. Even in the Northeast, it gets very hot and humid in the summer for outdoor matches that could last up to three hours - I know all about hydration. Drink or cramp! ...or worse.

One needs to drink 6 glasses of water a day to dilute all toxicity,  My uncle started taking pumpkin seeds to avoid going to bath room. Guess what happened to his kidneys.

Evelyn: Great...keep it up...!!!

Sam: When I was recently on treatment for prostate cancer, I curtailed my drinking because I wanted to eliminate frequent visits to the bath room, but the opposite is true...raising my water intake caused my bladder to fill fuller and slowly my trips to the bath room decreased...!!!

Thanks,   Fran

I have a problem with hydration too and I drink a LOT of water! I also "try" to stay away from caffiene, but I like Dr. Pepper way too much to quit.

Donna,

There are no easy answers. Every one's body is different, but we have to try our best to listen to what our bodies are trying to tell us...!!!
