Where there is love, I'll be there...
Spend time with those people who mean something in your life before the opportunity is spent and past due. Or worse, an event outside of the scope of control abruptly takes a loved one from this world.
This weekend was shared with our niece in intensive care awaiting news on whether her 21 year-old boyfriend would survive a drowning incident. They came down for the weekend to unwind, to get away.
He died on Sunday afternoon surrounded by loved ones.
The word love is an action word, not something that is said lightly in passing to people who share a common relationship. Some may think saying I LOVE YOU is sufficient. For me, proving it counts.
It is an emotional summation I also carry for my family.
Tell loved ones how you feel while there is time, rather than expressing yourself while standing next to a hospital bed, not knowing if the person can hear you or feel your touch before passing on.
Or as you lay in bed on sleepless nights thinking about all the times you had the opportunity and didn't grasp the moment. No more hugs and kisses, holiday occasions, special times to share, only regret.
I honor and cherish those who hold special significance in my life and I LOVE YOU ALL!
