ActiveRain Practices: Deceased Members
Our own Roy Kelley of whom I enjoy proposed a post memorial of a sort (that got featured) for those that were here today and gone tomorrow who lived out their cyberspace lives on and in ACTIVERAIN-land. I saw it as follows:
Sort of like a ActiveRain cemetery? Here is how my headstone reads:
Here lies Richie the poster, who had a good run.
He posted, commented and had lots of fun.
If you want to know more there's a place not to miss
Visit his ActiveRain library and just reminisce
He may be gone but one things for sure, if he was still here,
he would post some more.

ActiveRain Practices: Deceased Members
Newer members of ActiveRain may be surprised to discover that some of the blogs they might read are by members who are no longer alive. The names of deceased members also appear on the Leaderboard. If you die tonight, you may be remembered by your last blog so you may wish to make every blog you write reflect the way you wish to be remembered.
I would like to see some designation on the Leaderboard that shows that the member is deceased. Perhaps the word "Deceased" behind the name with a date if available would be a nice tribute and a way to recognize these members.
What are your suggestions for deceased members? Should there be a "deceased' designation? Should the points status be removed or should it be retained?
