Homeowner Insurance and Landlord Insurance - what is the difference.
My client started leasing her home in February. She was told that the homeowner insurance may not cover the liability needed as a landlord.
I checked it out and found that the home needed to be covered by a landlord rental insurance. One if the greatest risk that a landlord could face is the liability of personal injury or damage to rental property. If rent is a part of your income to pay for the home, you can face financial burden if there is a fire or other damages that makes your property unfit to rent.
Contact your insurance company and make sure you are covered correctly to prevent from future claims and liabilities.
