Where have all the buyers gone?!

Wow, just a few short months ago - homes were flying off the shelves and we were contacting homeowners in Red Rock trying to find homes for sale for our buyers. Market times were mostly under 30 days and small homes were snatched up with multiple offers.

Current day: As of mid September, homes are sitting on the market much longer, averaging 53 days on the market for active listings. Despite being a community with school, splash water park, relatively new builds and easy access to I-10, values hover around $76 a square foot or $165,000 average list price.

End of March-June stats showed us 17 closings, 11 of which were on the market 23 days or less. Looking at July through today, there have been 11 sales, 5 of which were 23 days or less.

Cara, well this is an interesting post!  We still have a huge inventory shortage, and as someone who does a lot of work with buyers, I wouldn't mind seeing a bit of a shift.

Same problem here. I really think buyers have given up and are waiting to see what happens after the election, or for the "bubble to burst".
