Raving Success Stories: so many, now the question is which one do I want to write about? Do I want to write about my biggest listing? Do I want to write about my biggest sale? Or do I want to write about the one that meant a lot to me? Or do I just pick one? Keep in mind being in the business for over 20 years in the greater Los Angeles area I have many raving success stories. If I did not than I would not be in business anymore.
So with that said I will just pick one and you tell me what you think.
This is how it began: I received a call from my dad, telling me that I need to come right away, my mother is in the hospital. Needless to say the Hospital was in Hungary and I was in Marina Del Rey, CA. No time to do anything accept to take my laptop and in those days my Blackberry Smartphone and get chip so I can communicate around the globe as if I was local.
This is when communication with email was just becoming the hip cool and trendy thing. At the same time, it was a very efficient way to instantly respond to potential clients and give them great customer service by instantly responding.
As I was laying on my parent’s couch realizing what will be happening soon, I was not in the mood to read a Jack Higgins “The Eagle Has Flown” book that I had with me. Instead I was checking my emails.
There it was: a potential Relocation Client was emailing me wanting to know if I could help her. She was leaving Florida, leaving her husband and coming to Los Angeles with her son. I went back and forth with her at least five or six emails with her and learned all this information. At the same time, I also found out she was planning on buying a home somewhere in the range of $2.5- $4 million. I had to break the bad news to her, that the buying power is a lot less in Los Angeles than in Florida in that price range.
Now after a few days of sending listings and narrowing down the list of what she wanted and what was available, we needed to address the fact, that it was time for her to fly out to Los Angeles and then I could take her around to see which neighborhoods appealed to her.
If timing is ever right in such circumstances, I guess the timing was just right, she was planning to fly out to Los Angeles a few days after I would return to Marina Del Rey, CA from my personal time. Needless to say there was no time to grieve and she was not aware of where I was, thanks to email communication and instant response by me.
Long story short, I picked her up every morning from the Marina Del Rey Ritz Carlton and we went looking at neighborhoods. Six days later she bought a well know architect’s designed home from a famous celebrity in Toluca Lake. It was a three million dollars, all cash transaction. Thank you Mom for looking over me.
