One of my family's favorite stops on our way to visit Washington from California is the Mount Shasta City Park, home of the headwaters of the Sacramento River.
In addition to a playground, large grassy areas, stage and community center, it's the site of the headwaters of the Sacramento River.
It's a great stop to bring a picnic to and get rejuvenated for the rest of the road trip.
