When You Want to Change What You’re Getting

If you keep doing what we’re doing, we’re going to

keep getting what we’re getting.”

Steven Covey 1932 - 2012, American Education, Author

Businessman, Keynote Speaker

As I see it. . . . . . . .

When you want to change what you’re getting

What you’re currently getting is a result of your thinking . . . . and what you’re currently doing.

To change what you’re getting . . . . you’ll have change your thinking . . . . and change what you’re doing.

It sounds simplistic in nature . . . . but it takes a real effort to change.

What you do on a consistent basis become your habits . . . . and what you’re currently getting is a result of those ingrained habits.

Your condition your minds to think in curtain patterns . . . . That conditioning is the foundation of your habits. By focusing your thinking on what you want to achieve . . . . and what the desired outcome will change your focus on achieving more of what you want.

You will begin to change your thinking . . . . your patterns . . . . and your habits.

As your thinking becomes focused you are conditioning you mind to think in new patterns . . . . which is the foundation for new habits and results.

When you want to change what you’re getting you have to change . . . . your habits.

The best way to change a habit is to replace it with a new activity . . . . Ones that will get you in harmony with what you want to achieve . . . . and move you closer to your objectives. It will take your new activity about 30 days to form the basis that will become the foundation of a new habit.

When you want to change what you’re getting . . . . change your thinking. Change what you’re doing to change what you’re getting . . . . By focusing your thinking on what you want to achieve you will change your habits to align with your thinking and the desired results.

IMO change is constant - sometimes it's for the better but not always! We have to adjust change with whether it is a benefit or not.

IMO, some things are better left unchanged - can you say "Coca Cola"?

Hi Lou Ludwig - when I was young, I always resisted change. Not anymore! I agree 100% with what you said.  Let's see the comments on this new platform for AR.  I embrace it. Change is good. Fix the bugs as you go.

Good morning, Lou -- you can't expect things to be different if you keep doing the same things over and over and over again.

I know this to be true; years ago (40?) when I stopped smoking I replaced that habit with pruning trees in my yard whenever the urge for a cigarette hit. It worked then, and it works with other habits too.

Hi Lou Ludwig Maybe they need to re-evaluate what they want, because most people do what they want without regard to outcomes.

Lou, Change takes effort on the part of the individual to make the change happen or else the same old results will occur.
