Walk the Talk!
Earlier this week, I reblogged a post by Marte Cliff entitled, What's the most impressive thing you can put in a mailbox? Answer: A handwritten thank you note. She even provided some suggestioned "situations" that would warrant a thank you note. Very helpful.
I think this is an important activity, but do I do it on a regular basis? Answer: No. Time to practice what I preach, or "walk the talk".
Last Saturday I walked in the Denver Walk to End Alzheimer's. This is an annual event and one I've participated in since 1999! This year I raised more than $1000 for the cause.
Prior to this year, my fundraising efforts were not as effective. Actually they were non-existent. I would write a check for $100, get my t-shirt and call it good. I'm proud to say that this year, for the first time, I'm a member of the Grand Champion club, recognition for my fundraising efforts.
Having said all of that, I need to acknowledge the amazing people who made a donation to my team. This is the perfect opportunity to write HANDWRITTEN thank you notes and that's just what I've done! (BTW, it's not too late if you would like to make a donation!)
