Autumn in the Colorado Rockies is always a very colorful time of year.
This is a scene from my sister-in-law's new home in Central City. Her house sits on a bit of a hill. The 126 year old home sits at 8,510 feet above sea level. This is one of the views she enjoys daily from her front porch.
Before long, this vibrant array of colors will be replaced with naked (leafless) trees and white crisp snow will blanket the ground.
This may be the very last week to get up in the high country and enjoy some truly beautiful Colorado gold.
Of course, the winter scene with sparking white snowflakes is always pretty as well. It is just a bit more difficult to get around in.
So as you are planning your weekend, be sure to take a break and head west. You won't be disappointed!
