One of the big events of the year (IMHO) in Pennsylvania will be Chester County Day. Held the first Saturday of October, this will be the 76th annual tour, and will concentrate on the area of Marshallton and Kennett Square. At $40 per ticket, it is a chance to visit historic homes and landscapes not usually open to the public. I highly recommend attending the slide show the night before at either the Chester County Courthouse or Longwood Gardens. Then you can highlight the homes you want to make sure and see on October 1, because there is never enough time to see them all, although this year they are not spread out as much as usual.
