Blueberry Apple Crisp for later tonight

Thanks for another yummy recipe from Will Hamm . I had to cheat with frozen blueberries. Enjoy!

This is a recipes that I really like.

3 cups blueberries (fresh)

3 cups very tart apples, sliced

brown sugar to taste

1 coup flour 3/4 cup sugar

1 tsp baking powder

3/4 salt

1 egg

1/3 cup butter

1/2 tsp cinnamon

Grease a baking dish and add apples and blueberries. Sugar with the brown sugar to taste. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and unbeaten egg with fork until miture becomes crumbly, Sprinkle this over the fruit. Bake at 350 for 30 mins until top is golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream. Makes about 6 portions

OMG....this recipe sounded familiar so I compared to my favorite apple crisp recipe (that I have been making since the early 80's). Except for adding the blueberries and having a little less butter...it's identical!

Sharon Tara Less butter is probably healthier. I am experimenting with using artificial sweeteners in most of our desserts.

Add the blueberries for a real treat.

The difference in butter was that mine calls for 1/2 cup....more butter actually than yours.

I made this last night and loved having the blueberries in it!

After reading your recipe I reduced the butter to 1/3 cup.

One other difference was the brown sugar. That step is not part of my recipe. Not only did I skip the brown sugar, I reduced the white sugar to 1/2 cup. It was plenty sweet enough!
