Just in the past few weeks, my beautiful city and the surrounding area has been featured in tons of articles! So many great new things are coming our way, so I thought I'd share a few of the most exciting developments with my fellow Active Rainers!
Our local, family owned shipyard just landed a HUGE contract! If you're skilled in building, welding, or have experience working with a shipyard, Panama City is on FIRE right now! Eastern Shipbuilding has been a huge job producer in our community for over 40 years, and this great company just was just awarded a $10.5 BILLION contract to construct 25 vessels for the US Coast Guard. This contact will result in the creation of over 2,000 new jobs between the 2 yards here in Bay County which will last for the next 20 years, and we are EXCITED!

A new housing devleopment has been approved just minutes from Tyndall AFB! Developers have been
working on the plans for a long time now, and the final approval just came through! Approximately 65 homes will be built on the 70 acre plot of land, providing much needed jobs and affordable housing for both military and local civilian families. There's no firm descision on when construction will begin, but this is great news for those of us in the real estate community!

Condo construction is ramping up again! Having recently been named one of the best places in the country for condo investment properties or secondary homes, and after years of consecutive record-breaking tourism, condo developers are flocking to our area! Some of our long-standing existing condominiums are expanding to add additional buildings or units; some brand new buildings are in the planning stages; and still other complexes are scheduled for major facelifts in the coming years.
