WHY RE/MAX?

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Residential

I was showing a home to a friend of mine the other day.  His name is Jeff.  We had met at Starbucks.

"Why RE/MAX?" Jeff asked over his hot cafe latte.

I paused.  I thought of all the lines I have been told about RE/MAX.  Nobody sells more homes! :)

But, I fumbled, just like I do with any line.

So I came up with "It's the best."

Hey.  I'm not trying to upset Mr. Coldwell or Mr. and Mrs. Baird and Warner.  I know you have great agents.

I'm just reporting the facts.  That's what I said.

I briefly talked about our payout plan.  We pay to work there.  Sometimes it seems crazy.

But it's that good.

That's what I think.

I am proud to be associated with RE/MAX.

Hymm no comments from anyone else so far?

Well each company is different and depending on that agents circumstances may lead them to choose the company they work at.

Delaware, please don't harass Ken. He chose Re/Max because they are the best and nothing else matters.   I would disagree strongly but this is his blog so I won't do it here!  Way to go, Ken!

Easy Ken... that RE/MAX kool-aid is dangerous. You've broken the biggest blog rule by pitching yourself and your company. RE/MAX is just one way of doing business. Frankly, they are having a very tough time recruiting in cities all across the nation. Some RE/MAX franchises are bucking the trend now and hiring agents on a transaction fee basis only. That flies in the face of the typical revenue model for the balloon. I think it's a business model whose day is waning. The company is scared to death of attrition in the next 10 years because the average agent age is way up there. RE/MAX just recently layed off folks at its international headquarters in Denver. The signs are there, so, as we all must do Ken... have a back up plan. The great thing about our businesss is you can hang your plank anywhere and still do business. If you're new to the business, RE/MAX isn't a good choice.

Who is Jeff Francis and what does he know?  I drink the cool aid too!  Everyone makes their own choices.  RE/MAX is mine.

I like the Kool-Aid.  I started new with Re/Max and still remain.  The reason I choose Re/Max was because of the name.  Sure other Companies had lower fees, less start up costs, etc.  But the name branding was huge to me.

Some will say that its not the Name Brand, but the agent.  I do not disagree, but the name brand is an added bonus.  A bonus that I am willing to pay for.
