My sweet new grandson is here! You've got to see him!

I wrote a post earlier about how excited I was about my new grandson coming in May. 

 Here is one of the photos I took  symbolizing the miracle of his birth.My new grandson

Well, since he was going to be a big one, the Doctor decided to induce my daughter-in-law 2 weeks early.  I am so excited to announce that I had the pleasure of being in the delivery room  with my daughter-in-law, my son and her mom for the grand entrance of this beautiful baby boy that weighed 9lbs. 11 ozs.. 

Not only did I have the privilege of being in the delivery room, helping (well, sort of) her push, but I also got to use my brand new flip video cameraand my telephoto lens that I bought so that I could bring the newest and best technology to my clients in Owensboro,KY.  Then I got to use fotoflexer.com to customize the photo to make it even better! 

Then, I even got to go to their home and stay for the week and help with caring for him and his big sister as well as the new mom.  It turned out to be a wonderful experience.  I not only bonded with the children, I bonded with my daughter-in-law, who I now consider her like my own daughter! She really was a champion about the whole thing and she really is a wonderful mother.  My son is very blessed to have such a sweet wife and a perfect little family.  Being a grand-parent is the absolute best feeling in the world!  The best part is we get to give them back and can go home when we are tired!

Vickie- Congratulations on your new baby!  And how wonderful that your daughter-in-law was comfortable enough and loved you enough to have you in the DR helping out, and helping at home!  I admit, I would not have had my mother-in-law in the delivery room with me!

I hope if/when my boys get married, I can be as close to them as you are to your daughter-in-law.  And as my sons are in high school, I also hope to wait many years for the pleasure!!

Carol-  I am so happy my daughter-in-law let me be in the delivery room.  It also worked out great that I went there and helped her for the week, she really appreciated it and we got to know each other better, and I think she realized that I am not so bad and that I actually love her too!  We definitely bonded and I look at her more like my "own" daugher now!

Congratulations! He is a handsome "little" guy :) Glad that you bonded with your daughter-in-law and that you were in the delivery room with her. My mother-in-law helped me "walk the halls" to help induce the labor - that was almost 10 years ago with my second child (sigh) it seems like yesterday.

Congrats! . . . how many grandchildren? . . . never in my life did I think being a grandpa would be soooooooo much fun. The other day my daughter and granddaughter came to the house . . . to make a long story short, granddaughter asked for a piece of candy, mom said, NO! I said to her, "where you at?" "what do you mean/" "where you at?" "your house", "exactly, now how many pieces do you want?" . . . best part, afterwards you can send them home :)
