Buy The Ticket, Take The Ride
**Reblog**
This quote immediately had me thinking about amusement park rides. I loved roller coasters as a kid. I still do, but I don't like getting thrown around as much as I used to! I love the anticipation and excitement of all the turns and drops. Real Estate is rarely boring. You just have to hold on tight!
I've always liked this quote from my spiritual advisor, life coach and mentor Hunter S. Thompson. For me, it's about commitment - if you're going to do something, give it everything you've got. Take the risk, reap the rewards and accept the consequences of failure, but don't hold back. Make it real. And whatever else you do, don't forget to wring every possible bit of fun from it.
I think Hunter's quote is a good one for our industry. It really doesn't take much to stand out from the crowd - some hard work, a focus on professionalism, and a dedication to client service ought to do it. But be prepared to take the rejection and
frustration along with the commission checks. Know that there will be bad days and good days. Suffer through the bad ones by knowing the good ones will be right back, as soon as whatever lesson you're supposed to be learning has been pounded into you. Stay on the right side of karma and you'll be fine.
