Sonic Booms - Thunder - Motorcycle Rumbles

Real Estate Agent with GreatWest Realty DRE# 00827565
It's not an average quiet Sunday afternoon here in my Greater Sacramento community. It's not unusual for my neighbor to fire up his Harley on weekends and let the crotch rocket rumble a few, while waking up the dead.
Add to it, the California Air Show is roaring overhead at nearby Mather Air Field. The air show was quieter yesterday, because the Blue Angels were grounded. A pilot had apparently contracted a food borne bug of some sort.
About an hour ago, I heard what I thought was motorcycle rumbles playing in harmony with Blue Angel booms. But, it was an even more welcome event than I could have imagined. It was thunder and lightening ushering in a very robust rainstorm for drought parched Sacramento County. Our very first rains of the season!
Out my window I observed neighbors sitting on lawn chairs in the doorways of opened garages. They were drinking the whole sight in! We Sacramentans are easily entertained!
I'm feeling a little giddy, and a little bit like I'm sea sick. For me, it's a sign a rainbow will be showing up in a couple hours, at about 4:00 pm.
The photos below were taken out in my backyard. My flowers and frogs are loving the precip!

Myrl we Phoenicians totally get the rain excitment!  We were out hiking this morning and it started raining cats and dogs. We loved it!  Actually it is the first time we got rained on hiking our hill behind our house in over 25 years!  It was very cool - as in fun!!!

Myrl,  I look forward to hearing those sounds of thunder … of the nature variety … not the crotch rockets or jets.  I’m close enough to you that I hope it is heading my way.  I am enjoying the cooler temps …. Yes I am ready for fall.

You got a lot more rain in Rancho Cordova than we saw in Land Park. Just a few sprinkles, and no thunderstorms.
