A‘ali‘i at Ward Village
The Howard Hughes Corporation has announced it will move ahead with it’s latest market priced condominium development A‘ali‘i at Ward Village. Designed by San Francisco based Solomon Cordwell Buenz together with locals Ferraro Choi & Associates , the project will consist of a 42 story high-rise residential condominium with a proposed 15,000 sq.ft. of retail space and 19,000sq.ft. of public open space.
Amenities will include a penthouse fitness center, swimming pool, playground, BBQ pavilions, dog park, storage facilities, bicycle storage and a 42nd rooftop lanai.

The A‘ali‘i will include 751 condo units, offering Studio, 1 bedroom, and 2 bedroom units ranging in size from 300 sq.ft. to 900 sq.ft. At least 100 units will be reserved housing units for those who meet HCDA eligibility requirements.
Sales are anticipated to begin early in 2017 with the project completion date expected by 2020, subject to HDCA approvals.
A‘ali‘i Location
HCDA (Hawaii Community Development Authority – agency overseeing & regulating Kaka‘ako developments) has scheduled public hearings for the development on November 2nd & 3rd, with approvals expected no earlier than December.
A‘ali‘i is an indigenous dry forest shrub here in Hawai’' whose hydrangea like flower along with it’s leaves are used in lei making. Known for it’s ability to endure strong winds Na A’ali’I is celebrated in this `Ōleleo o No‘eau Hawaiian proverb -
