As a real estate agent, you are your own boss, and run your own business. Although some companies offer education and support in varying degrees, it is up to you how you spend your days. If you focus on lead generation, building relationships, take advantage of education offered, and work diligently you are much more likely to be successful. Most agents get paid only when they sell a house. Especially in the beginning it might take awhile to build up a clientele, so having money in the bank to get you though is important. Plan to incur some expenses as you would in any business. In real estate there are local dues, mls fees and errors & omissions insurance costs, in addition to costs particular to your company. But as a business owner, your earnings are unlimited!
