One of my areas of focus the last few years has been working to encourage home ownership. Often people don't understand all the benefits that home ownership brings to individuals and to communities. The prices of San Antonio homes have gotten more expensive during the last few years yet San Antonio remains a beacon in Texas and across the nation. This past month of August saw a median sale price in San Antonio of $ 194,000. Compare this to the median sale price in Dallas (county) of $ 210,000., a median sale price of $ 206,000. for Houston (Harris county) while Austin (Travis County) saw a median sale price of $ 332,500. The average price of a home in Texas for August was $ 268,945. These figures make it readily apparent of the advantages of San Antonio home ownership compared to other Texas large cities.
