My first Political Post: Election is Tuesday November 8,2016

Having lived in a Communist Country I am a firm believer that Voting is very important. Needless to say I could tell stories about how One Person was running for a political position and everyone was required to Vote and if you did not show up for voting for the one person, you were singled out and penalized in your job, in your privileges… anyway you get the idea.

Now with that said I have a very good appreciation of living in a Democratic Society and having the right to vote, the privilege of voting and also the freedom to choose whoever you want to vote for. This is very important, not every person on the Globe has this freedom and privilege.

Clearly I am digressing, our nation will be electing the next President for the next four years. This is all good, part of Democracy. Where I have a problem with is what I just got in the mail.

A book: The Official Voter Information Guide, consisting of a quick reference guide of all the propositions, then some detailed explanations of each proposition and the explanations are pretty convoluted. I am a College Graduate (took me three Universities and six years but I do have a Bachelor’s Degree) Honest I do not consider myself the dumbest person in the world, but clearly the book is sent out too late and it is too confusing.

www.endrebarath.com

222 pages of Clarifications, seriously we are being intentionally confused so we do not get the opportunity to properly analyze and vote for what is actually good for the cause.

I will use an example Prop 61 is supposed to help and protect the benefits earned by all Veterans. So why is it that I received Brochure of four pages long to Vote No on Prop 61 and this is coming from the Veterans. Well I think you get the idea. Something needs to be changed. The whole process if you want my two cents.

Hope you have the time and energy to research what is best based on your own belief system and just hope that you make the right choices.

The right to vote is clearly a hard won privilege and voting  should be exercised by all.  That being said, it is important to understand who and what you are voting for because propositions and grass root issues are really what impact us on a local level.

Voting is a privilege. Americans can never take this right for granted and be so gullible to accept what the media says. They must do their own research, know the Constitution, and understand what and who they are voting for. We need to get America great. Voting is the only way we have a voice.

Hello Endre

How much do you think it cost tax payers to have this book mailed out? And how many books do you think were mailed out?

Vegas Bob is not into politics, I don't watch television, read new papers, watch or even listen to the news.

I love America but I don't like brainwash from news media, certain movies, etc. To me it's all a bunch of garbage.

Sorry but this is my 2 cents worth and VB will not be voting this year, I have only voted once in my life and that was enough.

I seriously believe the ballads are fixed and our vote doesn't mean crap!

Great post and featured to the group:

Hi Endre,

You are right, Endre. That book is hidiously huge and lengthy and confusing. I set aside an entire Sunday afternoon a few weeks back to study it, and I still had to discuss points with other people who had more information. It is not simple to understand. You simply cannot read the title of the proposition, say to yourself, "Oh that sounds like a good idea," and vote on it. Yet that is precisely what people will do, and that's why politics is so scary.

If you're going to vote, then at least be intelligent about it.
