Having this stamp made will save you lots of work and time

When I use the notarial certificates I create and print myself, all my required information is preprinted on the forms.

But when I notarize a document that has its own notarial certificate wording, I use a rubber stamp I had made.

My stamp states the following info - most of the text is required by my state. Adjust for your state's requirements.

Laura Vestanen, Notary Public
Residing in Bellingham, Washington, USA
Commission #12345 expires 10 Aug 2011

I had the stamp made with small letters using Arial font size 8.  The letters are big enough to read but the entire stamp is small  enough to squeeze into most spaces.  This stamp has saved me lots of writing by hand and I keep it in my briefcase at all times.

www.GoMobileNotary.com has pre-inked stamps that give super clear images.  Much better than the self-inking stamps.  I highly suggest GMN for all your stamp needs.

Hi Laura

Is this in place of a notarial seal?  I am not sure if Washington requires a notary commission seal and maybe this is what you stamp in the place of a government commission seal.

I have just gotten home from teaching a CA loan signing class and maybe I have gone braindead!

Thanks

Hi, Joan

The stamp I am talking about in my post above is used in addition to my state's notary seal.

I had other stamps made as well, including one with Jurat notarial certificate wording.

When documents are bound for a country outside the US, it is helpful if the notarial certificate wording is on the same page as the signature.  This is preferable to attaching a loose certificate.

Thus many of my documents have my Jurat stamp, notary seal/stamp, a gold foil circle with my notary seal embossed on it, and the {Name, Residing, Commission} stamp I talked about in my blog post above.

I hope this makes things more clear.
