One of the most recent additions to the culinary scene around Hudson Bend is Austin's home-town favorite Lucy's Fried Chicken.
Lucy's owner James Holmes had great timing in taking over the previous Iguana Grill location, right as the water in Lake Travis began to rise. Now Lucy's offers lakeside views that rival The Oasis.
The location is hard to miss whether you are driving by the bright neon sign on RR 620 or when boating by on Lake Travis with it's many bright red table umbrellas.
The restaurant went through a real Lucy's makeover...now featuring a modern blue, red, and white decor inside and out. This is one of the largest Hudson Bend area restaurants with indoor, covered and outdoor seating. There is a also an expansive indoor/outdoor bar, a performance stage and an oyster shucking station. Patrons of Lucy's will also be excited to see the playground for the little Lucys and Lukes in the family.
For those not familiar with the taste of their signature bird, there are dozens of ways to enjoy their delicious chicken. In addition to the always convenient bucket you should also try the Fried Chicken Nachos, Fried Chicken Spaghetti and of course Chicken and Waffles.
Lucy's offers Happy Hour specials each weekday afternoon as well as Lake Travis specific drinks and dishes including the Mansfield Martini and Lake Cooler.
My personal favorite way to enjoy Lucy's is brunch on the weekends. They always have incredible specials but someone in our party has to indulge in Lucy's Deep Fried French Toast with Dr. Pepper Syrup! Yum!
Lucy's on the Lake Hours:
MON-THUR 11AM-10PM
FRI 11AM-11PM
