WaCanId Bicycle Ride & Real Estate - Day 5
September 15, 2016 and we begin Day 5 of Rotary Sponsored WaCanId International Selkirk Loop Bicycle Ride. Todays ride is unique in a few ways. One being the evevation change from start to finish just over 200 feet, while the total elevation climb for riders being the largest of the ride at 5,291, just over 1 mile.
WaCanId Day 5 2016 being the first full day, that we are on the same route as past years. The beauty of the day never escapes me even though having traveled it many times with the ride as SAG or with Luggage.
The early morning shadows across Kootenai Lake, with the sun climbing above the eastern ridges as we leave Nelson. The colors of the Riders seemingly to pop out while waiting, loading, and disembarking the Balfour Nelson BC Ferry, which by the way is the longest Free Ferry ride in the world.

Heading south towards Creston will also keep Kootenai Lake to our immediate right most of the distance to Creston after the Ferry and passing through the Artisan town of Crawford. Of fun note is the fact that the broom maker for all the broom in "Harry Potter" is found here.
I took advantage of my familiarity of the route today. Pushed faster on the downhill, gaining uphill distance on the following hills. Pushed on the level and uphill, having the confidence of successfully completing 3 days past riding and difficult climbing. Knowing todays 77 miles was meant to be enjoyed not only for the beauty, but for stretching my growing physical envelope.
Lunch and break stops were enjoyed especially today with the long miles both ahead and behind. Something about the nearness of the huge lake all day and the sparkling ripples from cloud free skies. A spectacular day.
And how did I relate WaCanId Day 5 to Real Estate? With any portion of Real Estate we are at, be it day to day, weekly, renewed goals with new numbers, or new goals completely, we all hit stretches we are familiar with.
Rather than sit back and coast thru those times enjoy growing, expanding, learning. Just being familiar with somehting does not mean we can not still grow and improve. In fact the ability to improve while crossing familiar terrain is much greater than having to worry about every step yet ahead. Enjoy the confidence of being familiar and look for something new at the same time!
