It's that time of the year folks, with cold weather setting in, we all need to WINTERIZE! Our recent blog "6 Ways to Save Money From Going Out Your Window" was a good start. But to save even more, we have added these 5 tips below to keep you going in the right direction!
1. Check For Open Holes
Besides the ones mentioned in our last blog, those found around your windows, doors and exterior walls, the ones listed here can be found inside your home. Around plumbing pipes, duct work, air vents, and all outlets. For minor holes you can use an expanding spray foam to seal them. Be careful not to overdo it, this stuff expands quickly! Although easy to cut using a box cutter or knife. For larger holes you may need to do a little construction work to add framing before you use the spray foam. All the hot air escaping your home from these open areas can cause your heating bill to rise.
