My client and I were out viewing a couple of homes this weekend.
We had the chance to view a good handful of homes. All the listings were decent, but my client wanted to leave the best looking listing till the end. The pictures in the listing were beautiful, more updated and more square footage then the rest! We get to this amazing looking home and the pictures were not lying, this place was all that the remarks described and more, but with one unexcepted smell. You could tell the owner had pets. The smell was quite strong that my client was not interested in viewing all the home, we had to cut it short. Yes, it was the best looking home, but the smell of the home was such a downer.
My client did not say to take it off the list of potential homes, but I can tell it did not make the top of the list like we thought it was. Smells do make a different in first impressions.
