I love Sunday afternoons, especially when the Patriots are playing. Sunday is my one day off every week from working out. My muscles take a beating throughout the entire week, and believe it or not, that type of workout is a way for me to refocus. That’s relaxing for me.
It relaxes my mind. It allows me to clear my head of all thoughts related to anything and everything except lifting. If I’m not focused, I could easily get hurt lifting 165 pounds off the floor.
Since this is my day of relaxation, I have a 2 hour deep tissue massage scheduled throughout the year for Sundays at 11:00am at Massage Envy in Franklin. It’s another way to clear my mind again and allow a professional massage therapist prepare me for tomorrow morning at the gym.
Now I’m sitting in front of the television and watching football games. I’m in a football pool, and that makes it even more fun. Of course, I have a laptop on my lap, and I’m very comfortable with legs elevated on an ottoman.
This may seem like a nothing post, and, to most, it is. To me, it’s a necessity. Relaxing and recharging allows me to get a jump start on tomorrow without any stress. It’s a positive day and one without any outside influences, other than family, to interact with me today.
It’s very important to dedicate "one day a week" to recharge and clear one’s mind and body of the tension from the previous week. I never carry it over. Never!!! Do you?
Just another "relaxed" thought for the moment…..
