Things to do in Metro Denver: Halloween 2016

Halloween is a festive "holiday". There is much to do indoors and out. With family, friends and neighbors. In your neighborhood or town. Costume parties, good food and good fun. There are many events going on in and around Metro Denver.

Looking for a safe place to trick or treat with your family? Visit Boo at the Zoo, at the Denver Zoo. This event celebrates 32 years and includes 25 trick or treat stations! (No clown costumes, masks or fake weapons, please.)

Lots of fun and frolicking at the famed 8-acre corn maze at the Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield. The price of admission also includes a hayride. Brave souls may want to venture out after 7pm to experience the Dead Zone Haunted Attraction.

Haven't picked your pumpkin for this year's jack o'lantern? Visit the Colorado Pumpkin Patch at Jellystone Park. Another great family event including outdoor laser tag, tube swings, hay rides and a petting zoo!

Finally, if you are looking for a thrill, then make your way to the Castle of Terror-The Asylum in Castle Rock.

Good Morning Donna - this is always a great holiday for me.  We decorate the neighborhood.  I would love to go to the Colorado Pumpkin Patch!

It's probably been close to 20 years since I stepped foot in a haunted house!

I love corn mazes.  Should see which ones are around in my area.   Haven't done one in about six years.

I get a little panicky on those corn mazes, particularly at night!

Hi Donna Foerster - Many people don't know what to do for Halloween. Your blog highlights the happenings!

We have an old mining town close by called Jerome and the main hotel has had sightings.  It used to be an Asylum (saw your reference!) - The whole town gets involved but the restaurant "The Asylum" which sits in this converted hotel really goes all out.  Even the bathrooms are decorated - blood spatter everywhere!!!

Jerome would be the perfect place for a Halloween scare!

So many things to do in Metro Denver during Halloween time.  Over the years I have done many fun Halloween events with my grandkids, but I think they might be a bit too old this year.

Can we be too old to have fun on Halloween?
