Whatever Happened to Page? All that is left is a name on a map.Tug Hill NY Trail to Page w Jack

Often when planning a project we will scour the maps of the area, seeking out roads, trails, towns, country stores and other facilities.

You never know until you get there though which places will have easy access and the supplies that we need to keep going.

On the map to the right you see several towns, all but one are not much more that a note in the history books and a dot on the topo map.

Recently Jack and I headed out on an early morning adventure in the rain to go explore a few of these, but after a long run up Page road and many detours that required some skilled atving, we did not find a town.

But we did enjoy the run, saw plenty of Grouse, a few Cranes, got very wet, and even took a couple of photos.

These are the sorts of getaways that I used to enjoy when I was still at home and a young boy. My Dad and the crew would all head out into the forests looking for some pristine brook trout streams to catch a big one.

History of old towns can be fun, but many are like you said...nothing left but memories

Hi Bob, interesting run - you didn't find any sign of a town?  Usually, there is something left of the old place.
