"Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without loosing your enthusiasm"

I am relatively new to the Real Estate Sales side of this business. I worked for 30 years or so on the lending side of the Real Estate transaction and 4 years ago this month, I quit. Having worked for one of the Major Banking Corporations in the Country, I was promoted, displaced, found a new position, promoted, and displaced again. In fact, it happened over 6 times during a 14 year period. While many co-workers ran off to work for other companies, I never lost my commitment to who I worked for and I never lost my commitment to the industry. I believe my enthusiasm is what allowed me to always find a new position that seemed to fit just right. My attitude was that I always had a job. Sometimes those jobs didn’t pay as well or the drive was further or the hours weren’t what I wanted. But I still had a job.
So, 4 years ago this month, I decided that I was ready for a new commitment. Same industry, just a different employer this time, ME! I am 4 years in and I have to say, I am not disappointed. I am not making the money I had hoped to make. I am working way more hours than I ever thought I would. Some days I drive for hours and hours showing homes on the other side of town. Sometimes we make offers that get declined or clients decided after you do the work that now isn’t the right time for them after all. But every day, when I walk in the door and am asked how my day went, I can honestly say “Great!” I feel one step closer to success each and every day and look forward to tomorrow! AND, I am learning an entire new set of skills!
Enthusiasm is a choice!
