Time to Think Like One
There are two types of real estate agents. Those that think like a business owner and those that think like they have a job. Which way do you think?
Over the past 4 years, I have run into both types. You see, we tend to blame full time vs part time agents and this couldn't be more from the truth. I have ran into great part time agents and horrible full time agents.
The issue isn't about time commitment but rather how they view their business.
It all boils down to thinking and acting like a local small business owner. I credit this to not only my success, but I've studied the successful agents in our office and other agencies and this is the common thread between them all.
I have a passion for local small business owners. I believe in my heart they are the backbone to all of our communities. I had this passion when I owned a local small business and it really grew when I became a real estate agent.
I knew it was the key to my future but slowly I realized how many local small business owners actually interacted with us and our clients. My passion grew even more.
My ultimate passion and goal is to continue to build my side gig to help local small business owners like yourselves and those vendors we all use day in and day out. Not to mention the many brick and mortar folks. After 25 years in big box retail and now the past 8 in local small business there is a lot those big box folks know that would help small business owners like ourselves.
One of the reasons I haven't been on as much as I wish I could is I've been doing my real estate by day and late at night, I work on my side passon building a business to help local small business owners. I even started my own podcast that is directed at the local small business owner.
This week's episode I let both of my worlds collide. I did a show that explained why local small business owners would do great business if they hooked up with a Realtor. I thought I'd share if it anyone was interested.
