Mary is totally into Halloween, and always goes all out to decorate the house. We have three large tubs full of Halloween tchotchkes and a huge pile of big stuff that won't fit into tubs, like the large ghost she made, various witches and of course, my pal Mr. Bones. She always gets things going in early October, and as the month proceeds, adds more and more stuff. All this in spite of the fact that any kids in the area are going elsewhere for their sugar rushes - our neighborhood's large lots, low density and long driveways don't make for maximum bag load, and even though we always give out full sized candy bars, we only get a half-dozen or so trick or treaters.
This is some of our stuff from last year:
This year, we only have one Halloween decoration of any note, and it's definitely a scary one:
The house went on the market on Monday, and Mary grudgingly admitted that maybe this year, we ought to dial it way back. She isn't happy about that, and I can't imagine what she's going to do next year to make up for it. As for me, I just want one treat this year - a contract. I hope our agents know what they're doing.
