Oops...I Missed An Appointment

I feel your discomfort at your missed appointment. I've not missed a listing appointment but almost missed a buyer appointment - the first - boy did I feel badly when they called.

All you can do is apologize and hope they will forgive. We all goof up and it's embarrassing, especially when we pride ourselves on being careful about our schedule and punctuality!

It can be embarrassing when something like this happens, hopefully it only happens once.

I am sure you wont forget to put it in the calendar right away from now on.

Oh wow, Margaret. That's never happened to me yet and would feel like a nightmare if it did! You handled it just right.

I suspect you impressed them with your no-excuses response!  Things like this just happen sometimes and best to acknowledge what happened and move on. 

Hi Margaret - I am a very low stress person, unless I'm late for anything. It's just not something that's acceptable to me. So the idea of missing an appointment would probably keep me awake at night. I can tell that it's probably not something that will happen again any time soon.

Just all another reminder, Margaret Rome, Baltimore Maryland that we are only human and sometimes we are overwhelmed by the workload. Keep plugging!

Margaret I understand. I would feel terrible if I totally spaced an appointment.  This past year I was going to met a new person at her home but the address I was given was wrong (by the client) we discovered. I went to the wrong home and waited for about 15 minutes. And the house was in the process of being painted etc so it seemed like a house getting ready for market. The lady called my office and they assured her I had left to meet her.  I called her back right away and she raked me over the coals and was very mean actually. I was as pleasant & professional as I could be and apologetic but after listening to her for a few minutes I decided she was not a potential client. I wished her well and let it go.  I'm glad your folks were understanding!

I have done the same thing!  We lead complicated lives, for sure.

I always take responsibility when I screw up.  It's the only thing to do.  

Margaret - I am hard on myself too.  I never intend to miss an appointment but one did fall off my iPhone and I apologized profusely.

Oh, dear, Margaret!  I just read your post about not answering your phone and scaring the wits out of your children!  Sounds like you need a vacation!  Um, without your phone!

And of course you took responsibility for the goof-up!  Good for you.
