A Simple Halloween Tablescape - Black Is The New Orange
What is a tablescape, you ask?
For those of you wondering what I'm talking about....
creating a tablescape is basically setting the table.
It includes the centerpiece, linens, glassware, and dishes. It's about creating visual appeal, whether it's for a formal dinner party or a casual luncheon.
I don't believe in spending a lot of money on decor, especially holiday decor. I prefer using what I have on hand, and with a little creativity the results can be quite impressive.
As a professional Home Stager, I believe holiday decorating while your home is listed for sale should be limited.
Ideally, I recommend decorating more "seasonal" rather than "holiday specific".
Here is an example of an easy Halloween inspired tablescape:
I started with a piece of burlap.
I folded it to the length I wanted, and simply scrunched it up to give it more dimension.
I placed a planter in the center to give one pumpkin more height.
Added some silk floral stems and candles.
I added little pumpkin candles, but real mini pumpkins are very inexpensive and would work well too.
I chose to paint my pumpkins black for a more dramatic look.
You could paint yours any color you want....or leave them natural.
Soup's On!
Add a tablecloth and some soup bowls and you are ready for a colorful
fall luncheon.

My pumpkins were painted with chalkboard paint, which means I can be artistic and add a jack-o-lantern face or Halloween message if I want to.
I can erase and redo whenever the SPIRIT moves me!
